William Degouve de Nuncques (28 February 1867 — 1 March 1935)

William Degouve de Nuncques, Black Swan 1895.

William Degouve de Nuncques was a Belgian painter of French origin who 
was known for his atmospheric night landscapes and ghostly subjects. 
In 1883 he met the Belgian painter Jan Toorop with whom he rented a studio 
together. Toorop influenced his early work.
