Frederic Leighton (3 December 1830 – 25 January 1896)

Frederick Leighton was born at Scarborough, North Yorkshire, 
on December 3, 1830. His father, Edward Leighton, taught 
medicine, and his grandfather was the court physician to the 
Russian Emperor Alexander I.
